Physical Collections

    The UW Libraries is home to the largest library collection in the Pacific Northwest with over 9 million books, journals, millions of microforms, thousands of maps, rare books, film, audio and video recordings, including these special collections:

      Government Publications

      A depository for publications from the US government, Canada, the United Nations, the European Union and the State of Washington

      Map Collection & Cartographic Information Services

      Premier collection of maps in Washington state.

      Microforms & Newspapers Collection

      A large current international and domestic newspaper collection, with emphasis on Slavic, South and Southeast Asian papers and a selection of American and European papers

      Special Collections

      The Libraries' major resource of rare published and archival materials covering a broad range of topics, formats and periods. Strengths in Pacific NW history; architecture; book arts; 19th c. American literature; historical photography; historical children's literature. Also home to the University of Washington Archives.

      UW Branch Libraries

      Branch libraries focus collections and services for Art, Built Environments, Business, Drama, East Asia, Engineering, Health Sciences, Math, Music, and more.
