Get Your UW Libraries Card to check out items
- The following is required to receive a library card:
- Proof of your qualifying donation to the Friends of the Libraries through a letter from UW Libraries, a gift receipt from the University of Washington Foundation or an email receipt from an online donation
- Valid government issued photo ID
- Accounts expire annually; ID verification required to renew accounts

Your Library Account
- Library Account Services will issue you a guest UW NetID to login
- You should regularly check your online account, as you are responsible for all items checked out to it and fines will accrue on overdue items.
- Most UW-owned materials can be renewed indefinitely unless/until they are requested by someone else or the account expires.
