Use your Husky Card to check out items from any UW Library, Summit, or Interlibrary Loan
- Your library account should be automatically activated 1-2 business days after your appointment in the UW Payroll system begins.
- See UW procedures for visiting scholars for information on Visiting Scholar appointments.
- Your account will expire two weeks into the second consecutive quarter after your Visiting Scholar status ends. Contact Library Account Services if you have questions about your expiration date.

- Use your UW NetID to log in
- You should regularly check your online account, as you are responsible for all items checked out to it and fines will accrue on overdue items.
- Most UW-owned materials can be renewed indefinitely unless/until they are requested by someone else or the account expires.

- Alternative Article Access Options
If UW Libraries does not have immediate access to articles, there are several alternatives you can try to obtain a copy of the article.
- Interlibrary Loan and Scanning Services
Obtain books and articles that the UW does not own; scanning services for print journal articles owned by the UW libraries; scanning services for course materials.
- Departmental Delivery
The UW Libraries will check material out to you and send it to your department via the campus mail. This service is available for current faculty with UW campus box numbers.
